Once you’ve learnt the grooves focus on the feel. Chad Smith plays with a distinct style that you want to mirror in your playing. Be powerful and groovy! Also pay attention to his hi-hat sound. He taps his heel on the hi-hat pedal whilst he’s playing which changes the sound.
